Ship Detector
Detect and localize a variety of maritime objects from a variety of ship-mounted angles. Trained with proprietary CVEDIA synthetic technology, this algorithm includes tankers and cargo ships, as well as sail, fishing, motor, and emergency boats. Our Ship Detector also detects buoys and debris as separate events, as well as ensuring airplanes are classified as false alarms. Use in an automation process, for docking, or as a part of a situational awareness system. This model was trained in cloudy and foggy conditions, as well as rough Douglas Sea State conditions from 0 to 7.

Our services
MAINTENANCE
Each CVEDIA model comes backed with an ongoing maintenance agreement. Our team is available for continuous improvements and to ensure upkeep.
FINE GRAIN CLASSIFICATION
Speak to our team to discuss model classification as a service add on or as a separate model. CVEDIA’s in-house team will work with you to define your requirements, and build a synthetic-based model incorporating your classification specifications.
ADDITIONAL CLASSES
CVEDIA models are built using proprietary synthetic data technology, meaning adding additional classes to your model is possible in a matter of weeks.
Use cases
SITUATIONAL AWARENESS
Use this algorithm as an effective component of your situational awareness system with the ability to automate alerts about ships and other ocean obstructions on the horizon. The Ship Detector maintains a low power profile, making it suitable for existing camera setups.
MARINE DOCKING
The Ship Detector can be used on your ship’s bow or stern in order to maintain a safe distance from other sea craft and objects when docking in a port. Additional detection classes and classification parameters are available as CVEDIA service add-ons.
AUTONOMOUS SHIPS
This algorithm allows for unprecedented object detection performance for maritime autonomy. By effectively utilizing our synthetic data technology, the detector is stronger in uncommon weather and wave patterns, more resilient against new boat models, and regularly updated for consistent performance.
